Blue Friday?

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Friday! Which means tomorrow is Saturday. Which means I have work to do.
It used to be that weekends were a great time of fun and relaxation. However, once you buy a house and have kids, the schedule fills up with things that have to be done. Not only are there the normal chores that have to be done like laundry and washing the dishes, but now there are cars to keep running, shingles to reattach to the roof and grocery shopping to be done. (I've been slacking off on the grocery shopping lately and the cupboards are starting to look pretty bare.)

Honestly, sometimes I look forward to Monday where I can get to work and get a little rest. (Word for the day - "hyperbole".)

Here we are well into January and I hope everyone has their 2021 calendars. I went a little crazy this year when calendar buying and ended up with a regular wall calendar, a white board calendar and a daily "Did You Know?" desk calendar. It's one of those little things where you peel off a day at a time. One of my former employees used to get me one every year, usually with pages from The Onion comedy website. This year, I got myself a fact-based one because ... well, because I like trivia.

Yesterday, I learned that dog's feet apparently smell like corn chips. Apparently their paws have a bacteria that makes them smell like Fritos. I don't know if this is true or not because I don't go around smelling dog feet. I've seen where they have been walking, no thanks. So, on this fact I will take the calendar's word for it.

Today's fact, by the way, is that there are more than 645 different meanings of the word "run." I have no reason to doubt this, but I lose track at around three meanings and am not interested enough to look up the rest. I have work to do and can't waste my time on trivia.

Everyone have a nice weekend and try not to work too hard.
