Cold, Cold Morning

Good (cold) morning everyone,

I hope everyone is someplace nice and warm this morning. A look at the thermometer shows that it is a nice brisk -7 degrees here in the greater Metropolitan Edgewood Area. That's pretty dang cold, but at least it is a dry cold. Wait. That doesn't make much sense, but you hear it all the time when referring to the heat.

We in New Mexico complain a little too much about the weather. The same storm the sprinkled a couple of inches in my yard is now wreaking havoc across the rest of the country and we whine a bit about having to stay indoors for a day. (And having to clear out the driveway.)

In truth, I'm going to keep complaining about the cold and the snow and the heat and especially the wind, especially to those friends of mine who don't live in New Mexico. I don't want them to get the idea that the weather is actually very pleasant most of the time and that we don't have to worrying about hurricanes and massive snow storms that cripple the area for weeks. And while the wind is annoying at best, it isn't that bad. Plus we've got beautiful sunsets, an autumn season which is clearly what heaven is meant to be and great food.

We don't want that to get out otherwise this place would be overrun by Texans, or worse, Californians.

So, yeah, it's really cold today and it was yesterday. I had to clear snow and I'm thinking I should move someplace warmer. Sorry, that's about as much of a whine I can work up right now, I guess I am too distracted by how the sun shining on the snow in the pasture across the road makes it look like there's a million diamonds laying out there.

Have a great day everyone, and stay diligent.
